The 21^st Annual OCO Golf Tournament was slated for Monday, December 7^th at the Mesa Verde Country Club.  In the weeks preceding the tournament, the OCO Golf Tournament committee was worried that there would not be enough golfers.  Tournament Chair, Glenn Tanaka and his committee members sent out emails and followed up to assure that a decent number of golfers would participate in this annual fundraising activity that helps A3M.  Thankfully, as always, people signed up to partake and show support to OCO and A3M. One hundred and sixteen golfers were willing to take a day off to make sure that A3M continues to recruit donors so patients from our communities get a second chance at life.

On the weekend before the tournament, the weather report indicated that Monday was going to be a rainy day.  Glenn Tanaka’s email to Sharon Sugiyama said, “We tell players that rain or shine, come on out and we will do something regardless.”

As predicted, Monday turned out to be a rainy day and unfortunately, the golf tournament was canceled. However, the hard working OCO Golf Tournament committee came up with the idea to have games and contests for the people who attended, and came out to the golf course, in spite of the inclement weather.

Almost 70 people stayed for the activities and for lunch, provided by L&L Hawaiian Barbecue.  Prizes were awarded to some of the game winners, and also to many prize drawing winners.

A big thank you to the entire OCO Golf Tournament committee, the many volunteers who came out in the rain, and to the sponsors who supported the tournament.  A special thank you to Tournament Chair Glenn Tanaka, for his commitment to A3M year after year, for his creative ideas to keep people entertained, and to assure that the attendees hear A3M's message.

In spite of the terrible weather, a good time was enjoyed by all of the great supporters.
