Jamison

JamisonJamison Vincent Abrenica was diagnosed with a severe case of Aplastic Anemia on May 5, 2010. Jamison has undergone test after test, including a bone marrow biopsy and spinal tap. Throughout all of this he has stayed strong and happy. Despite all of the poking, prodding, and needles, he still carries a beautiful smile.

Jamison will undergo chemotherapy and will need a bone marrow transplant. Because he is Filipino it may difficult to find a match for him. His only sister Malia and both of his parents are not a match for Jamison.

Jamison will be turned 2 years old on August 4 and loves to play with monster trucks and he adores his older sister Malia and misses being with the other kids at daycare. This is the time of his life where he should be growing and learning and exploring the world. Please teach him the beauty in selflessness and humanity by becoming a registered bone marrow donor today.  For more on Jamison, please visit www.helpjamison.com

Anne

Anne registered in May of 2001. Five years later she received a call from the donor center informing her that she was a match. She said, “ It was really nice to know that I could possibly be able to help someone who is trying to survive”. Anne said as a potential donor, she answered the health history questionnaire and gave some blood to test before the actual donation. She said, “I never had any hesitation. If I had, I would not have registered in the first place. I think it is only fair to the patient, once you make that commitment to go ahead with the process if you are called”.

When people ask her about her donation she says, “It doesn’t matter. It was never about me, it was about that person who needed my help”.

Anne’s patient is doing well. She hopes to meet him some day.
