Evan

At age 3, Evan was diagnosed with a rare, genetic immune disorder called Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) after falling ill to multiple infections requiring hospitalization. To stay healthy, he goes to the hospital every month to receive IV medication and takes multiple antibiotics daily. Despite this, Evan is expected to fall ill to serious infections every few years for the rest of his life. Evan's doctors believe that his best chance of leading a long and healthy life is to undergo a bone marrow transplant in the next two years.
A bone marrow transplant is the only cure for CGD. Evan is Chinese and Korean, and his matching donor will most likely be one (or both) of the same ethnicities. Unfortunately, Asians make up only 5% of the national donor registry. Register today to help Evan and others in need of life-saving treatment!
November 2019 Update: Evan received his transplant from a partial match late November of late year. He was able to go back home just in time for the holidays!
Team Evan thanks everyone who helped and registered in his name, and hopes the day will come when patients will be able to find their perfect match easily without any delays.
