2021 marks a pivotal year at A3M, as we celebrated 30 years of life-saving work on November 19th. We are sad to announce that we are also preparing for the closure of A3M at the end of this year. In an effort to centralize all marrow donor registration activities, the Be the Match Registry will not be continuing their partnership with recruitment centers such as A3M, with the intention that their recruitment work will continue through the Be the Match organization. To address the need of finding marrow donors for patients of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) ancestry, Be the Match is in the process of creating an API program which will be spearheaded by Susan Choi, A3M Executive Director and include some A3M staff.
Over the last 30 years, A3M is very proud to have added more than 330,000 donors to the marrow registry, creating more than 9,000 marrow and stem cell matches. These life-saving matches were possible because of the generosity and passion of supporters like you. As A3M closes its doors, we’re left brimming with gratitude and pride for all the miracles we created together. The A3M team would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our patients and our supporters.
